Our founders, Kym and Tiffany Wimberly, have built a legacy in education that prioritizes the individual needs of each student. This philosophy has been seamlessly carried over to ACT Qualified Driving Academy.
Here, we believe in a personalized, student-centered approach to learning, empowering our students to become responsible drivers who understand the importance of safety and courtesy on the road.
Our Adult Pre-Licensing Course includes 6 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training to help you become a confident and responsible driver. Whether you've driven before or not, we've got you covered. While it's not mandatory, consider adding additional drive hours at checkout, if you have never been behind the wheel - if you desire additional Behind the Wheel Hours. You will need to secure a Temporary Instruction Permit from the Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) to complete our program. Note: A TIP Card is not required to register for our program, but it is required to take the Knowledge Skills test (given at the end of class) and your Behind the Wheel Training, so we recommend securing your TIP before class. OMV Required Documents
You need to apply for a Class E Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP) from the Office of Motor Vehicles before you can take the knowledge test, drive during on-road lessons with an instructor, or participate in the on-road driving skills test. Make sure you meet all other Office of Motor Vehicles identification requirements. Note that this requirement doesn't apply to those enrolled in a National Guard Youth Challenge Program or to students who started driver education before September 4, 2018.
After you finish your driver's education, you'll have to give back the TIP to the OMV, along with proof that you completed the driver's education course and any other necessary documents.
The good news is that there's no extra cost to switch from a TIP to a Learner's Permit or a Full License.

It was amazing. The day was broken up so we learned everything we needed to know while still having time for breaks and driving related activities. I have many classmates that have HATED drivers ED, but all things considered it was a really good experience. Mrs. Suzette is amazing by the way.
Thank you to Ms. Tanya she was amazing and had me confident to pass before i even took the test, everythings gone smooth and I’m happy I went with this school they’re wholesome people here.
I've never been to a place where they treat you so wonderfully. They are 100% professional: Miss Brittany Burns, Kim Wimberly Sr., and Odell Williams. They treat you like family. If you have any doubts about where to go to get your courses , here's your answer. I swear you won't regret it.
Ms.Tanya was my teacher, she was the best! All the ladies in the building was the best also. Great attitudes and helpful with anything you need! I took my class on Saturday January 31st.
I had a great experience taking my driving class at ACT Driving Academy. Mrs. Tonya was absolutely amazing—patient, encouraging, and very knowledgeable. She explained everything clearly and made the class easy to understand and enjoyable. I learned so much and felt confident going into my test, which I passed with flying colors. I’m really grateful for the skills and confidence I gained from this class and would highly recommend ACT Driving Academy to anyone learning how to drive.
A huge thank you to Ms. Tiffany! Her explanations were incredibly clear, fluid, and easy to understand. I would also like to thank her wonderful team—they are all so kind, patient, and professional. I had a great experience and highly recommend these classes to anyone looking for quality teaching and a supportive environment.
