Our founders, Kym and Tiffany Wimberly, have built a legacy in education that prioritizes the individual needs of each student. This philosophy has been seamlessly carried over to ACT Qualified Driving Academy.
Here, we believe in a personalized, student-centered approach to learning, empowering our students to become responsible drivers who understand the importance of safety and courtesy on the road.
There's Always Somebody Crazier Than You: A Look at Road Rage
At some point, every driver has experienced an episode of road rage. Whether you’re the target or the perpetrator, road rage incidents can be startling, scary, and downright dangerous. But here’s a thought to remember – there’s always somebody crazier than you.
Undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?”
Aggressive Behaviors
Road rage is a term that refers to the aggressive or angry behaviors exhibited by drivers in response to other drivers’ actions on the road. These behaviors can range from honking and yelling to tailgating, cutting off other vehicles, and even escalating to physical confrontation.
Before you give in to the urge to retaliate against a discourteous driver, remember that escalating a situation is rarely worth it. When you’re tempted to engage, remind yourself: there’s always someone crazier than you. This isn’t an attempt to delegitimize your anger or frustration but rather a gentle reminder to ensure your safety and mental peace.
Remember that road rage can quickly turn from an exchange of words into a hazardous situation. The crazier person may not think twice about escalating the situation, potentially endangering you and other innocent motorists. You may think you’re just giving them a piece of your mind, but it might be an invitation to a reckless contest in their world.
Is it worth the risk?
Ask yourself, is it worth the risk? Is it worth endangering your safety, your passengers, or the innocent driver in the other lane who has nothing to do with your current predicament? All over a disagreement that is trivial in the grand scheme of things?
By adopting a calmer approach to dealing with road rage incidents, we can all contribute to safer roads and driving environments. It starts with empathy – understanding that the other driver might have had a bad day or maybe they’re rushing to an emergency.
Managing Rage
Consider employing some techniques to manage your anger on the road. Deep breathing exercises, listening to calming music, or even taking a few moments to pull over safely and regroup can help.
Every time you get behind the wheel, you have the power to set the tone for your journey. Keep in mind that not every battle needs to be fought. Drive with patience and tolerance. If someone cuts you off or tailgates, let it slide. Their actions reflect their character, not yours.
There’s no productive outcome
In conclusion, it’s important to remember that road rage doesn’t lead to any productive outcome. It merely amplifies stress, invites danger, and worsens the overall driving experience. By choosing to stay calm and composed, you safeguard your journey and contribute to a safer road environment for everyone. Remember, there’s always somebody crazier than you on the road, and choosing not to engage with them is a sign of strength, not weakness.
One of the best classes I've ever been a part of! Mrs. Suzette made it feel like home. Even though she was hard on us from day one, she explained everything well and is an amazing teacher. I loved this class
Absolute Breeze !!! Took the adult class, had Mrs. Tiffany, and she went over word for word in class that was expected on the test. Very helpful and wants you to pass !!!
