Our founders, Kym and Tiffany Wimberly, have built a legacy in education that prioritizes the individual needs of each student. This philosophy has been seamlessly carried over to ACT Qualified Driving Academy.
Here, we believe in a personalized, student-centered approach to learning, empowering our students to become responsible drivers who understand the importance of safety and courtesy on the road.
It’s a buzzing, blinking world we live in, constantly surrounded by screens that demand our attention. Be it social media notifications, work emails, or simple text messages; our smartphones constantly draw us into their digital universe. But the real world we live in—especially when we’re behind the wheel—requires our undivided attention. And here’s the hard truth: “You will never respond to a text if you die.”
Yes, 3000 People A Year!
Distracted driving, particularly texting while driving, is a critical issue in today’s fast-paced, always-connected society. The statistics are chilling. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), in the United States alone, approximately 3,000 people lose their lives every year due to distracted driving. The majority of these distractions? You guessed it – texting.
It Will Only Take a Second
Let’s set the stage. Imagine you’re traveling on the highway at 55 mph. You hear the familiar ding of a new message. You think, “It will only take a second,” and you glance down. In that second, your car has covered the length of a football field—all without your eyes on the road. That’s the equivalent of driving blindfolded down a football field. It’s a recipe for disaster.
As drivers, it’s our responsibility to prioritize safety over a quick reply. A text message, no matter how important it seems, is never worth risking a life. Remember this: there is no message so urgent that it can’t wait until you are safely parked.
Be An Example – Value Safety Over Speed
Educators and parents, it’s our responsibility to instill these values in our young drivers. Teach them the importance of focusing on the road and nothing else when they’re behind the wheel. Show them that it’s okay to put the phone away, to let a call go to voicemail, to ignore a text until later.
Let’s create a culture that values safety over speed, lives over likes, and people over posts. Encourage your teens to take the pledge not to text and drive. Remind them of the chilling truth: “You will never respond to a text if you die.”
No Phone Zone
Consider implementing a ‘no phone zone’ in the car, utilize the ‘Do Not Disturb While Driving’ feature on your smartphones, or invest in apps that block incoming texts or calls when the car is in motion. There are solutions out there; it’s just a matter of putting them into practice.
Remember, driving is your only job when you’re behind the wheel. Let’s make our roads safer by pledging to keep our eyes on the road, our hands on the wheel, and our minds on the drive. Because life doesn’t have a backspace button, and unlike a text message, we can’t undo our mistakes on the road.
You Will Never Respond To A Text If You Die!
To end, reflect on this—your loved ones would rather wait for a text than never receive one because you tried to text while driving. Because in the end, “you will never respond to a text if you die.” Drive safe.
I love this place everyone is so sweet and this is amazing to go to if you suffer from anxiety/neurodivergent/ English not your first language. They’re very reassuring and sweet people :)
My daughter has learning disabilities and I was very hesitant in where to send her for driving education. As you would imagine, my biggest concerns were, will she be able to keep up with the other kids, will the staff have the patience to meet her needs. Well I am here to tell you, the entire staff from the front desk to the classroom, made sure she felt confident and comfortable every day. With the awesome instruction and daily reminders of you can do it, my daughter passed the class. I can't thank Ms. Tiffany, Ms. Suzette, and the entire ACT Qualified staff enough.
The instructor was really helpful and patient,I’m usually not big with test but having Ms.K as an instructor helped me test so smoothly.Passed on my first try.
All of the staff here at ACT are beyond exceptional and experienced. Mrs. Tiffany, Mrs. MiMi, Ms. Keisha, and definitely all of the others have provided me with the best quality driving education to properly prepare me to drive responsibly on the road. I would recommend ACT to any future driver. All thanks to the staff of ACT.
Coach Key was very attentive and answered every question the class had. She was very positive and very kind and kept my attention. Thank you! I passed my written test! 🎉🥳
I really enjoyed the class. Despite the price we had to pay, it was mostly entertaining (especially during group projects). I was nervous during the day of the test but it didn't turn out to be too bad after all. 5 stars all around!
Great institution, very organized and super friendly and helpful. Ms. Kee is a great teacher and gives great pointers for the exam. Ms. Minnie is super helpful and such a kind person. I really appreciated that she took the time to make sure of my driving hours.
Took the 14hr adult class. Ms.Key is amazing she made sure we knew everything that was important in order to pass the written test. All 4 of my drives were beautiful with great instructors. The driving test was wonderful. I highly recommend if you and your kids or other adults are looking for a fantastic driving school.
