Our founders, Kym and Tiffany Wimberly, have built a legacy in education that prioritizes the individual needs of each student. This philosophy has been seamlessly carried over to ACT Qualified Driving Academy.
Here, we believe in a personalized, student-centered approach to learning, empowering our students to become responsible drivers who understand the importance of safety and courtesy on the road.
At ACT Qualified Driving Academy, we strongly advocate for responsible and safe driving. Recently, we have noticed an alarming increase in speeding and aggressive driving on our interstate highways. This article seeks to highlight the crucial role that police presence plays in managing these road behaviors and the potential impact it could have on drivers’ conduct.
Interstate highways are the veins of our nation, pumping vehicles across vast distances at high speeds. Unfortunately, this also makes them hotspots for speeding and aggressive driving. These behaviors don’t just put the offending drivers at risk – they endanger everyone on the road.
There’s a growing need for an increased police presence on our interstates. Visual reminders of law enforcement can be an effective deterrent for would-be speeders and aggressive drivers. They serve as a stark reminder that dangerous driving behaviors won’t go unchecked.
While we understand that police resources are finite and need to be allocated effectively, we firmly believe that frequent patrols on the interstate system can lead to safer roads. Studies have shown that the perception of being watched or the possibility of getting caught can significantly influence a person’s behavior. The mere sight of a police cruiser can be enough to encourage drivers to moderate their speed, keep safe following distances, and curb any aggressive tendencies. But the role of police extends beyond being a visual deterrent. Their ability to respond swiftly to incidents, enforce traffic laws, and educate the public about road safety is essential in maintaining order on our roads.
An enhanced police presence on our highways will not only ensure adherence to speed limits but also cultivate a culture of responsibility and respect among drivers. If drivers are aware that they’re patrolling the interstates regularly, they’re more likely to be cognizant of their behavior and respect the laws of the road.
We implore all stakeholders, from policymakers to law enforcement agencies, to address this pressing issue. More police on our interstates can translate into fewer accidents, less reckless driving, and ultimately, safer roads for everyone.
As drivers, we can do our part too. Adhere to speed limits, respect other drivers, and remember that everyone on the road has a common goal – to reach their destination safely. Your understanding and cooperation make our highways safer.
Through our collective efforts, we can transform the culture of driving on our interstates, ensuring that these critical roadways are safe for all. Let’s be the change we wish to see on our roads. Because when it comes to road safety, we’re all in this together.
As of 2023, it is regrettable to note that Louisiana has seen a total of 211 traffic-related deaths involving drivers. Out of these, St. Tammany Parish accounted for 15 fatalities, while Orleans Parish reported 19.

One of the best classes I've ever been a part of! Mrs. Suzette made it feel like home. Even though she was hard on us from day one, she explained everything well and is an amazing teacher. I loved this class
Absolute Breeze !!! Took the adult class, had Mrs. Tiffany, and she went over word for word in class that was expected on the test. Very helpful and wants you to pass !!! Did two different sets of reviews within the 3 hours time left of class , took the test and passed on point. Would definitely recommend !!!
