Our founders, Kym and Tiffany Wimberly, have built a legacy in education that prioritizes the individual needs of each student. This philosophy has been seamlessly carried over to ACT Qualified Driving Academy.
Here, we believe in a personalized, student-centered approach to learning, empowering our students to become responsible drivers who understand the importance of safety and courtesy on the road.
At ACT Qualified Driving Academy in Metairie, Louisiana, our Teen Driver’s Education program is trusted by parents across the Greater New Orleans area.
We provide a state-approved, comprehensive driver training course that combines classroom education with behind-the-wheel practice to prepare teens for safe,
independent driving. Whether your teen is just starting at 14 years and 9 months with a Temporary Instruction Permit or working toward their full license at 17,
we make the process simple and stress-free. With modern dual-brake vehicles, supportive instructors, and on-site road skills testing, ACT Qualified Driving Academy
is the top choice for teen driver’s education in Louisiana. Families choose us for safety, convenience, and proven results — helping teens build confidence
while giving parents peace of mind.
Our Teen Driver's Education Course includes 30 hours of classroom instruction and 8 hours of behind-the-wheel training to help you become a confident and responsible driver. Navigating your teen's path to driving is a big deal, and we're here to make it seamless. Starting as young as 14 & 9 months, we offer age-appropriate courses and behind-the-wheel training, progressing them from a Learner's Permit to a Full License by age 17. Trust us to provide a comprehensive driving education, complete with licensed tests right here on site—making the road to independence safer and simpler for your family. You will need to secure a Temporary Instruction Permit from the Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) to complete our program.
OMV Required Documents
You need to apply for a Class E Temporary Instructional Permit (TIP) from the Office of Motor Vehicles before you can take the knowledge test, drive during on-road lessons with an instructor, or participate in the on-road driving skills test. Make sure you meet all other Office of Motor Vehicles identification requirements. Note that this requirement doesn't apply to those enrolled in a National Guard Youth Challenge Program or to students who started driver education before September 4, 2018.
After you finish your driver's education, you'll have to give back the TIP to the OMV, along with proof that you completed the driver's education course and any other necessary documents.
The good news is that there's no extra cost to switch from a TIP to a Learner's Permit or a Full License.

I had a great experience! All of the teachers and staff were very professional and made sure that each student understood what was being taught. I would definitely recommend their 14 hour class it’s the best for quick quality learning.
Ms.Suzette and the whole staff were great instructors, they made the class: fun , memorizing, and also full of education. They led me to a successful pass on the knowledge portion.
